Nazis yes, Imperial Japanese no?

I found the Life Magazine/Winston Churchill memoir books in a thrift store tonight. It is a two-volume set. Sadly, Roosevelt did not get his chance to write WWII memoirs, as he died only days before the war was over. I've read some of Stalin's, and they were interesting... yet... dull. The relentless density of Russian propaganda makes it difficult to read as true History. Everyone does it - historical Bull Shit - but it's really something "special" - an Art - in Russia.

I found a film made in 1947 about the Stillwell Road (created in China during WWII). The film was narrated by Ronald Reagan. The Stillwell Road was THE lifeline for delivering our supplies to the Chinese who were also fighting the Japanese. Japan was conquering China by slaughters equal to the Nazis against Europe, the Jews, Slavs, etc.. It's odd to me how Japan has not lived in our history as equals to Nazi Germany. Perhaps this is because we don't have a huge, vocal Chinese population with an international voice? Japan holds a "special" Evil position in Chinese history. The Japanese killed, and planned on continuing to kill, as many Chinese (and Americans) as possible - yet they are not written into OUR history with the depth and breadth of disgust we give to the Nazis.

I think that's worth pondering.
