Some things never change

You should find this interesting, because of what this history tells us about TODAY. If you don't read it ALL, you won't get why I've included it.

"Himmler" by Peter Padfield, chapter "The Herrenmensch", page 443 - the author is discussing growing corruption (always present, but increasing) and compromises to political goals within the Nazi party (1943), and how, as they lost thousands and thousands of soldiers every month on the Eastern (Russian) front, they found themselves with the "difficult" decision of how many Jews, Slavs, etc. they should kill IMMEDIATELY VS use in armament factories until Germany won control of the world (and could THEN finish killing them and all the other "sub-humans"), and who, of those they had already enslaved, could be forced to fight for Germany... until they too were of no use and could be eliminated.

Here is the paragraph:

"An even more bizarre example of the fall from the elite and racial standards of entry for the Waffen-SS occurred in February 1943. Hitler sanctioned the recruitment of Moslems from Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to assist in the fight against their traditional enemies, the Serbian Christians who formed the majority of partisans in Yugoslavia. Moslem volunteers FLOCKED to Berger's (a Nazi officer) standard, and when the flow stopped he drafted conscripts to bring the formation up to division strength. After training in the west they returned to the Balkans as the 13th Waffen-Gebirgs (Mountain) Division of the SS, Handschar. They wore a field gray fez adorned with the eagle and swastika and the SS death's-head badge, were allowed their religious observances and, as Himmler told Goebbels, were promised heaven by the mullahs if they were killed in action, 'a very practical and attractive religion for soldiers!' he added. They soon established a reputation for atrocity in the cruel guerilla warfare of the region."

I don't see a need to add to that. It's self-explanatory, isn't it?
