Thanksgiving 2007

I am grateful for:

A decent, often supportive upbringing with reasonable moral guidance,

A love of Nature, Creativity, Learning, the Arts, and the Non-Tangible,

My wife, family, friends, some of my Educators, steadfast & supportive
customers, strangers who are accidental teachers by example,

And random moments of all sorts we're given (and may use), on a daily
basis, to make ourselves smarter.

I'm also grateful for air conditioning, films, indoor plumbing, central
heating, the alphabet, power-assist steering, telephones, cotton
clothing, batteries, airplanes, deodorant, caramel apples, email,
supportive footwear, scissors, ink pens, copier machines, Fall,
museums, the half-tone dot, character based comedies, two
sexes, fresh raspberries, roofless cars, houses with roofs,
cameras, computers, farmers, and earthy Mexican food.

Also, coffee, diet cola, vanilla soy milk on raisin bran,
reflux and depression medications, the postal service,
rubber tires, radio, music, speech, soap, machine made
paper, glass, seeing the finest home in America - "Falling
Water" by Frank Lloyd Wright, television, space exploration,
and my fairly manageable health.

Finally, small touches, lingering glances,
peach fuzz, having a child reach up to
hold my hand, & being humbled by
the knowledge millions of people
have died so you & I could take
for granted this average day...

I wrote this last year.
I have nothing to add or
subtract for this year.

Have a good Thanksgiving.
